AAI's Featured Programs For Winter, Spring, and Summer
Bolivia/Peru Expeditions
The expedition season in South America is here! Acclimatize with us in Cuzco & Machu Picchu and then join us in the Andes of Bolivia to learn or advance alpine skills and do a series of awesome ascents (17,000 to 21,000 feet). We lead trips at both basic and more advanced levels. We'll also be returning to Peru for expeditions on Toqllaraju and Chopikalki (19,790 and 20,847 feet), and in Bolivia in early August we'll be on Ancohuma and Illampu (21,095 and 20,873 feet). Our new 10-day trip for Ecuador high altitude leaves June 6th.
Denali and the Alaska Range
The Alaska season is underway. Visit the Denali Expedition page for more details and see the trip roster page for availability plus team member photos and bios. There are a few climbing positions available in June. Also check out our Alaska Range Mountaineering program and consider joining our June 5th St. Elias Range First Ascents program.
Guided Ascents - Pacific Northwest
The summer climbing season on Pacific Northwest rock offers great cragging, multi pitch climbs at all levels, and big wall climbing. Join us for a course or a series of guided ascents. Check out the classic alpine rock routes too.
Mountaineering in the Northwest

The Cascades are an ideal location to learn alpine and glacier climbing. Join a 6-Day Alpine Mountaineering Course or a 12-day Alpine Mountaineering and Leadership Course in the spectacular North Cascades of Washington. Learn climbing technique for rock & ice, safe glacier travel procedures, mountaineering leadership, and climb to the summit of major peaks. We also climb America's best summer ice.
California's High Sierra
Join us for an ascent or instructional program in the "range of light" this spring. We offer ascents of Mt. Whitney, Intro to Mountaineering, and Alpine Mountaineering & Leadership programs.
Sierra and Cascades Ascents
The Sierra and the Cascades both feature some of North America's most beautiful peaks and finest routes on rock, snow, and ice. Cruise through our guided climbs on Sierra classics and Cascade classics and you'll find it hard to resist the laying of immediate climbing plans!
